The main modules of an electrical power train are the EV motor, the inverter and the On Board Charger and, of course, the Battery.
The test of these modules, rated at very high power (several hundred kWs) poses many challenges. Test solutions for inverters and chargers must take into consideration the issue of thermal management.
The electrical test of the bondings between cells in EV batteries is essential for ensuring their operating safety and durability, but a test solution must take into account the physical constraints and dimensions of the batteries under test as well as the need to meet the throughput targets of high-volume manufacturing environments.
All of these factors cannot be addressed individually, but must be managed with an integrated approach that can only be provided by experienced design teams.
